Kids Art Club November highlights!
It’s been great seeing their creative confidence grow. We now have regulars and have watched new friendships develop. We offered a variety of activities, from creative construction with glue guns to artist inspired paper creations.
Week 1, Moving bats, birds and dragons with straws and tape all within the theme of hibernation. They loved flying their creatures around the class. Wednesdays class made and decorated paper houses with Sarah Dennis. From 2D to 3D with a few folds and glue!
Week 2 and time to get the glue guns out. We had everything from angler fish, to crocodiles, squirrels, sloths, seals and dinosaurs. For our paper inspired class Sarah showed the kids how to make paper pop up cards, inspired by Maria Rivans.
Week 3, Hideaways, another week of glue guns creating envelope style homes for owls, squirrels, insects, penguins and even an elephant handbag! Wednesdays class created Matisse inspired paper hats.
Week 4, Cardboard spinning disks were used to create a variety of funny faces and creatures. Lots of laughter as they made up spinning stories.
Week 5, Shadow puppets. We have taken advantage of the darker afternoons! The kids created paper puppets with card and coloured acetate and then put on a show.
Looking forward to the next couple of weeks before Christmas. January and February classes are now up for booking, we will be hosting a class every weekday for ages 4 all the way up to 16 in our Friday Teens Art Club.
