Here's what the kids got up to at Afterschool Art Clubs at Goldfinch this September.
What a month we’ve had. So pleased to welcome our first Afterschool Art club kids to Goldfinch.
Week 1, the children learnt new ways to make their ideas come to life using paper. We started with watercolour, they learnt a few different techniques to create patterned and textured paper. After that we moved onto paper orbs. They were so delighted when they saw a flat piece of paper become a paper ball.
Week 2 they took inspiration from books on animals, including my favourite, Animal Parade, by Clare Youngs. Stapling, punching and cutting, their creatures came to life!
Week 3, we moved into circle stories, talking and thinking about life cycles, they used paper, a hole punch and split pins to spin their stories, and poscas, a favourite with all the kids.
Week 4, we moved onto paper weaving and mini paper mobiles using their watercolour paper, lolly sticks and ribbons.

Term 2 Afterschool Clubs now open for booking
Afterschool art clubs at Goldfinch take place every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 3 45 – 5pm and can be booked per term.
We have also introduced a 4 30 pm – 5 45 pm class on Thursdays for the older group (8 – 16 years). LET’S MAKE ART run this session as well as the Friday session. Find out more about LET’S MAKE ART.
If you arrive a little late, not to worry, we know what school pick up traffic is like, especially when its raining!
