Kids Art Clubs
4 - 7 year-olds
Imagine this...
A place where children are valued as natural artists and encouraged to explore.
Our Kids Art Club for ages 4–7 is all about playful exploration, imagination and building creative confidence. Each term takes inspiration from a new theme, from the changing seasons and natural world to wildlife, storytelling and celebrations, giving children fresh ideas to explore through art and making.
Across the year, children will experiment with a wonderful variety of materials and techniques, including painting, drawing, collage, printmaking, sculpture, construction, textiles and mixed-media crafts. Activities are designed to encourage children to make their own creative choices, explore colour, pattern, shape and texture, and develop new skills without everything needing to look the same.
We provide a relaxed, encouraging space where their individual ideas and creativity can flourish.

Term 2 Nov/Dec | Autumn Inspired crafts
Full details
This autumn, children will explore a wonderful mix of seasonal art and craft, taking inspiration from the changing colours, darker afternoons, nature and the approach of winter. Each week will introduce different materials and creative techniques, with opportunities to experiment with cardboard, collage, string, fabric, paint, Posca pens, acetate and mixed-media materials. Children will design, build, paint and decorate their own imaginative creations, exploring autumnal themes through colour, texture, pattern and playful making. Sessions will encourage creative confidence, problem-solving and individual expression, with plenty of freedom for children to develop their own ideas rather than simply copying an example. As the term moves towards winter, we’ll introduce some festive inspiration too, finishing with a special Christmas making session and a unique decoration to take home and hang on the tree.

We’ll experiment with snow, snowflakes and ice, create magical enchanted forests filled with fairy houses and toadstools, explore monochrome winter trees and celebrate the first snowdrops beginning to appear. Inspired by the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch, children will discover winter birds including our very own goldfinch, exploring feathers, nests, migration and birdwatching through playful art and making. As the term develops, we’ll turn our attention to ponds and wetlands, taking inspiration from ducks, swans, dragonflies and watery habitats, before adding a splash of colour with some Valentine’s-inspired creativity. Throughout the term, children will experiment with different materials, textures and techniques, encouraging observation, imagination and creative confidence while discovering the wildlife and seasonal changes happening around them.

We’ll discover the wildlife returning to ponds, from frogs and dragonflies to colourful lily pads, and take inspiration from the spectacular colours and patterns of peacocks. As the days become lighter, we’ll mark the Spring Equinox and explore the colours, shapes and textures that signal the arrival of spring. Along the way, we’ll create something special for Mothering Sunday, visit the farm through art with playful lamb and sheep-inspired makes, and finish the term with plenty of Easter creativity, including chicks and rabbits. Each week will introduce different materials and techniques, giving children plenty of freedom to experiment, imagine and develop their own creative ideas.

We’ll celebrate Earth Day through nature-inspired making before discovering some of our garden’s smallest residents, from quirky Maybugs and busy bees to bright and colourful ladybirds, including a special activity inspired by World Bee Day. Across the term, children will experiment with colour, pattern, texture and a variety of art materials, encouraging them to look closely at the natural world, explore new techniques and turn their discoveries into imaginative creations of their own.
