Here's what we got up to at Preschool art and Music!
Create and Play
This term, we have celebrated the arrival of spring. Seasonal animal crafts have included frog masks, sparkly dragonflies, beautiful circle peacocks, feather-embellished chicks, fluffy lambs in flower meadows and cute bunnies. We have also explored the arrival of spring flowers with snowdrop, hyacinth, daffodil and blossom tree crafts. Our tuff tray sensory play has included ponds, green jelly, peacock eyes in blue rice, flower potions, pink playdough cakes with sprinkles, a spring forest and colourful Easter egg and pompom play. We’ve all enjoyed stories and songs about spring, farms, frogs and the Easter bunny.
Music and Move
This term, we have celebrated the arrival of the spring with songs all about spring flowers, butterflies, frogs, swans, chicks and sheep. The children also enjoyed turning into busy bees with scarf wings during the Flight of the Bumble Bees! We’ve also shared songs celebrating Easter, with the Chocolate song, Easter Bunny song and Hot Cross Buns traditional rhyme. Popular movement songs have included Bunny Hop, Red Light Green Light and Follow the Leader. Ropes have been used for Limbo dancing; bean bags for balancing, passing and throwing; and scarves for making wheels on the bus, for throwing up and down, and for playing peekaboo. Parachute favourites have included When I Was One, Walking Through the Jungle and Slow and Fast.
If your child loved getting stuck into creative play, we’d love to welcome you next term. Our upcoming sessions continue to build on everything we value at Goldfinch, thoughtful, hands-on activities, high quality materials and a nurturing, screen-free environment where children can express themselves freely and grow in confidence. Spaces are limited, so we recommend booking early to secure your place.
In the meantime, don’t miss our Create & Play Easter Holiday sessions a wonderful way to keep little ones engaged over the break. With seasonal crafts, sensory play and plenty of spring-inspired creativity, these sessions are perfect for curious minds aged 1.5–5.
