Magic Faraway Tree Creations!

Our main project for this holiday art club takes inspiration from the enchanting world of The Magic Faraway Tree. Children will design and build their own imaginative trees using recycled materials, decorating them with whimsical details and filling them with the curious creatures that call them home. These holiday sessions are always a highlight, as each child leaves with a unique creation that sparks storytelling, imaginative play, and hours of creative fun long after the workshop ends.

What they’ll take away:

What they’ll get up to:

10am – 10:30am
Make a name badge/art icebreakers. After introductions, we’ll be using pastels, cardboard, vinyl, and sharpies to spark their creativity.
Materials: pins, vinyl, sharpies, scissors
Prep: cut cardboard circles, kids can add pins.

10:30am – 11:30am
Magic Faraway Tree house design. We’ll have the Magic Faraway Tree out for inspiration as they sketch out their ideas for their unique magic trees. It’s the perfect chance for them to explore shapes, patterns, and playful details before turning their drawings into wonderful 3D creations.

11:30am – 12pm SNACK TIME

12pm – 1pm
Magic Faraway Tree house construction. It’s time to get building—not just any tree, but a magical one! Using glue and a wonderful selection of materials, including fabric, felt, and plenty of recycled treasures, children will bring their imaginative tree houses to life. We’ll be on hand to guide and support as they design and construct their own beautiful, one-of-a-kind creations.

1pm – 1:30pm LUNCH

1:30pm – 2pm
Wooden birds. We’ll provide each child with a little wooden bird to paint and pop into their tree!

2pm – 3pm
Magic Faraway Tree house characters. Now it’s time to bring the magic trees to life with their very own inhabitants! Children will design and craft a collection of tiny, imaginative creatures to live among the branches. Using a mix of colourful materials, textures, and plenty of creativity, each child will create a miniature world filled with character and charm!

What to Wear:

We encourage participants to dress comfortably and be prepared for a bit of messiness. However, worry not, as we will provide art aprons to ensure that everyone stays clean and tidy.

Lunch and snacks

Bring along a packed lunch, snacks and water bottle, no nuts please. Alternatively you are welcome to order a Pinkmans lunch box when you arrive in the morning; it includes a cheese or ham sandwich, raisins and a juice box.
