Easter Holiday Art Club Sculpture

A playful day experimenting with art that stands up! They’ll be guided through various techniques using wire, beads, plasticine, foil and paper to make sculptures inspired by different artists and their imagination. Louise Bourgeois will be one of the artists we’ll be taking inspiration from as well as Miro for exploration turning everyday food containers into works of art!

Session Information:

Dates: Monday 14th April
Time: 10am – 3pm
Cost: £50 per child / sibling discounts available

For ages 5 – 10 years

What they’ll take away:

    • Wire sculpture and pattern exploration
    • Louise Bourgeois inspired sculpture
    • Miro inspired sculpture with recycled materials
    • Paper sculpture

What they’ll get up to:

10am – 10 30am
Make a name badge/art icebreakers
After introductions, we’ll be using pastels, cardboard, vinyl and sharpies to spark their creativity.

10 30am – 11 30am
Wire sculpture exploration
Using beads, wire and foil, the children will create mini sculpture that double as games, moving the ones secured in place they will be able to move their beads around to create different variations on of their sculpture.

11 30am – 12pm SNACK TIME

12pm – 1pm
Louise Bourgeois inspired sculpture
Using plasticine, straws and string they will create a series of mini hanging sculptures.

1pm – 1 30pm LUNCH

1 30pm – 2pm
Paper Sculpture
We’ll be guiding the children through various paper fold techniques to teach them how to create 3D sculptures from 2D sheets of paper.

2pm – 3pm
Miro inspired sculpture
The glue guns will make an appearance as they begin by designing their creations on paper and then choosing the scrapstore materials to turn their ideas into Miro inspired sculptures. We’ll be exploring pattern and 3D shapes.

What to Wear:

We encourage participants to dress comfortably and be prepared for a bit of messiness. However, worry not, as we will provide art aprons to ensure that everyone stays clean and tidy.

Lunch and snacks

Bring along a packed lunch, snacks and water bottle, no nuts please. Alternatively you are welcome to order a Pinkmans lunch box when you arrive in the morning, it includes a cheese or ham sandwich, raisins and a juice box.
