Festive Family Art Workshop | Spiders Web Decorations | Bristol

Festive Spiders Webs!

Join us at Goldfinch for a festive family art workshop inspired by the beautiful legend of the Christmas spider. In the story, a poor family’s bare Christmas tree is transformed overnight when spiders cover its branches in delicate webs, which shimmer like silver and gold in the morning light and become a symbol of good luck and prosperity.

For Nicole, one of Goldfinch’s partners, the tradition is also a personal one. Growing up in South Africa, she had a spider web decoration on her family Christmas tree from childhood, and wanted to share that sense of memory and magic with Goldfinch families. In this workshop, children and grown-ups will make their own miniature spider web tree decorations using cardboard, colourful wool and playful handmade plasticine spiders, creating a festive keepsake to bring out year after year.
