Haunted House Construction October Half Term Holiday Art Club

A playful day building haunted houses and halloween inspired creations with a glue gun! Children will develop problem solving skills by working out how to make their creations stand up and join together. This club is for children who love to build, the glue guns will be out with guidance from our art teachers and inspiring scrapstore finds to create!

What they’ll take away:

• • • A carefully crafted haunted home with all the furniture to take home
    • Mini hand painted peg doll witch or wizard
    • Junk modelling challenge

What they’ll get up to:

10 00am- 10 30am
Make a spooky badge/art icebreakers
After introductions, we’ll be using pastels, cardboard, vinyl and sharpies to spark their creativity.

10 30am – 11 30am
Mini Haunted House Design
We’ll start with black markers and paper, time to design haunted houses! After a quick intro into glue gun safety and tips, the kids will start creating their 3D structure with all the exciting materials on offer.

11 30am – 12pm SNACK TIME

12pm – 1pm
Haunted house design continued…
We’ll spend this hour adding interiors, furniture, soft fittings, windows, shelving and gardens too!

1pm – 1 30pm LUNCH

1 30pm – 2 30pm
Peg Doll People
It’s time to get creative with Posca pens and fabric as they decorate their own peg doll people! Use the pens to add bright colours and fun patterns, then dress your dolls with fabric clothes. To make them extra special for Halloween, finish by adding tiny witches hats and broomsticks, turning their peg dolls into magical little witches ready for spooky adventures!

2 30pm – 3pm
Junk Modelling challenge
They will be free to explore and create with glue guns, whatever they can imagine!

What to Wear:

We encourage participants to dress comfortably and be prepared for a bit of messiness. However, worry not, as we will provide art aprons to ensure that everyone stays clean and tidy.

Lunch and snacks

Bring along a packed lunch, snacks and water bottle, no nuts please. Alternatively you are welcome to order a Pinkmans lunch box when you arrive in the morning, it includes a cheese or ham sandwich, raisins and a juice box.
