May Half Term Holiday Art Club Illustration

If your child loves to draw, this holiday art club is for them! Our holiday art clubs are super creative full day sessions with different programs each day to unlock your child’s creativity. Our art teachers will guide children through various illustration techniques using pastels, collage, Posca pens, crayons and watercolour pencils.

Session Information:

Dates: Wednesday 28th May
Time: 10am – 3pm
Cost: £50 per child / sibling discounts available

For ages 5 – 10 years

What they’ll take away:

What they’ll get up to:

10am – 10 30am
Make a name badge/art icebreakers – alphabet animals
After introductions, we’ll be using pastels, cardboard, vinyl and sharpies to spark their creativity.

10 30am – 11 30am
Mini comic book
Guided through the steps to create their stories, kids will each work on their characters, how to capture the audience and draw them into their stories. From developing the story, drawing the pictures, choosing the words to drawing the frames and putting them in order, this project introduces children to many different skills.

11 30am – 12pm SNACK TIME

12pm – 1pm
Still life drawing
An introduction to still life drawing with watercolour pencils, we’ll talk about placement,scale, blending and shadows to assist the children in this creative activity.

1pm – 1 30pm LUNCH

1 30pm – 2pm
Delaunay inspired circle art
Inspired by the work of Robert and Sonya Delaunay, abstract artists, the children will use concentric circles and shapes to create abstract postcards.

2pm – 3pm
Collage artwork
Using inspiration from their comic book they will choose a single frame to illustrate through collage. Cutting and sticking with a variety of coloured, patterned paper and fabric instead of a pen!

What to Wear:

We encourage participants to dress comfortably and be prepared for a bit of messiness. However, worry not, as we will provide art aprons to ensure that everyone stays clean and tidy.

Lunch and snacks

Bring along a packed lunch, snacks and water bottle, no nuts please. Alternatively you are welcome to order a Pinkmans lunch box when you arrive in the morning, it includes a cheese or ham sandwich, raisins and a juice box.
