Mini homes – Construction Summer Holiday Art Club | Monday 4th August | 5 – 10 years

Make mini homes and all the furniture that goes inside at our Summer Holiday Art Club!

A playful day exploring what it’s like to be an Architect, develop spatial awareness and a sense of scale. Children develop problem solving skills by working out how to make their creations stand up and join together. This club is for children who love to build, the glue guns will be out with loads of materials to create their designs!

What they’ll take away:

• A carefully crafted mini home with all the furniture to take home
• Mini hand painted peg doll figures
• Junk modelling challenge

Age Requirement:

5 – 10 years

Session Information:

Dates: Monday 4th August
Time: 10am – 3pm
Cost: £50 per child / sibling discounts available

What they’ll get up to:

10am – 10 30am
Make a name badge/art icebreakers
After introductions, we’ll be using pastels, cardboard, vinyl and sharpies to spark their creativity.

10 30am – 11 30am
Mini House Design
We’ll start with black markers and paper, time to design! After a quick into to glue gun safety and tips the kids will start creating their 3D structure with all the exciting materials on offer.

11 30am – 12pm SNACK TIME

12pm – 1pm
Mini house design continued…
We’ll spend this hour adding interiors, furniture, soft fittings, windows, shelving and gardens too!

1pm – 1 30pm LUNCH

1 30pm – 2pm
Peg Doll People
Posca pens and fabric come out to paint their peg doll people.

2pm – 3pm
Junk Modelling challenge
We’ll introduce the children to joining techniques without glue guns, using matchstick, straws and tape they will create whatever they can imagine!

What to Wear:

We encourage participants to dress comfortably and be prepared for a bit of messiness. However, worry not, as we will provide art aprons to ensure that everyone stays clean and tidy.

Lunch and snacks

Bring along a packed lunch, snacks and water bottle, no nuts please. Alternatively you are welcome to order a Pinkmans lunch box when you arrive in the morning, it includes a cheese or ham sandwich, raisins and a juice box.
