Half a Day of Spooky Forest Building for Our Younger Artists!

Session Information

Age Requirement: 4–6 years

Date: Tuesday 27th October

Time: 9.30am–12pm

Cost: £30 per child (sibling discounts available)

Step into an enchanting woodland where pumpkins grow beneath towering trees, mushrooms hide beneath fallen leaves and friendly Halloween creatures come out to play!

This fun-filled half-day workshop has been specially designed for children aged 4–6 years, giving our youngest artists the opportunity to build and create at a pace that suits them. Using cardboard tubes, recycled materials, colourful papers and exciting Scrapstore treasures, children will design and build their own miniature spooky forest filled with trees, woodland animals, pumpkins, mushrooms and magical surprises.

Throughout the morning, children will explore simple construction techniques including cutting, sticking, layering and decorating while developing their creativity, confidence and fine motor skills. They’ll also create their own magical sensory bottle inspired by an autumn woodland, filled with colourful natural materials and seasonal treasures.

Our workshops are designed to inspire creativity through hands-on making, imaginative storytelling and playful exploration in a warm and welcoming environment. Every child will leave with their own woodland creations and plenty of creative pride.

We’ve introduced these half-day workshops especially for our younger artists, giving them the opportunity to enjoy a fun, creative session that’s perfectly suited to their age and attention span.

What they’ll take away

  • A 3D spooky woodland scene made from recycled materials
  • A magical autumn sensory bottle
  • Lots of construction skills and creative ideas to continue making at home

What they’ll get up to

9.30am–10am: Wooden Halloween Decoration

After introductions, children will decorate their own wooden hanging decoration using stencils, acrylic pens and colourful patterns. They can choose pumpkins, mushrooms, bats, autumn leaves or friendly Halloween designs to create a keepsake they’ll be proud to take home.

This gentle creative activity helps everyone settle in, build confidence and get to know one another before we begin our larger construction project.

10am–10.45am: Build a Spooky Forest

Using cardboard tubes, recycled materials, colourful papers and exciting treasures, children will create their own magical woodland scene.

They’ll build trees, decorate pumpkins and mushrooms, add woodland paths and create cosy homes for friendly woodland creatures. Along the way they’ll learn simple construction techniques including cutting, sticking, layering and decorating, while bringing their spooky forest to life with plenty of imagination.

10.45am–11am: Snack Time

11am–12pm: Magical Woodland Sensory Bottle

Children will finish the morning by creating their own calming autumn sensory bottle inspired by a magical woodland.

Using colourful liquids, glitter, leaves, natural treasures and seasonal decorations, they’ll carefully fill and assemble their bottle before watching the magical colours swirl together. This relaxing activity explores colour, movement and texture while creating a beautiful sensory keepsake to enjoy at home.
