Explore proportion, brush stroke and scale at our Watercolour birds Summer Holiday Art Club!

We’ll start by sketching, working out position and scale of the individual birds and then dive into various brush strokes to illustrate feathers. If your child loves watercolours, this is a chance for them to deepen their knowledge with a brush! By providing a relaxed, calm, and friendly atmosphere, we encourage them to chat, share stories, and showcase their artwork.

Time: 10am – 2pm
Cost: £45 per child / sibling discounts available

10 30am – 11 30am
Sketch design
We’ll talk through placement of drawings on the page, scale and pencil work as they sketch their birds.

11 30am – 12pm SNACK TIME

12pm – 1pm
Watercolour techniques
Get to grips with watercolours, learn various brush strokes to create different parts of the bird. Then it’s time to begin their watercolour bird. They’ll learn about brush sizes and generally expand their watercolour skills, blend techniques, wet on wet, colour mixing, tones and how to layer their artwork.

1pm – 1 30pm LUNCH

1 30pm – 2pm
Watercolour bird
Finishing off their artworks and adding the details, they will understand the order of painting and adding the tiny details to finish off with pen work.

What to Wear:

We encourage participants to dress comfortably and be prepared for a bit of messiness. However, worry not, as we will provide art aprons to ensure that everyone stays clean and tidy.

Lunch and snacks

Bring along a packed lunch, snacks and water bottle, no nuts please. Alternatively you are welcome to order a Pinkmans lunch box when you arrive in the morning, it includes a cheese or ham sandwich, raisins and a juice box.
