Puppets!
Taking advantage of the darker afternoons, the kids spend time creating puppets for a shadow puppet show at the end of the term.
To get their creative juices flowing, they were each given a box to create a stage for lollypop puppets, a short story, lots of exciting collage materials and the class was full of mini stages.
Next we moved onto string puppets with parts that move, from birds to robots, peacocks and pelicans there were many inspiring creations to share.
Our main project this term, marionettes, beading legs and necks turned out to be a very popular part of this project. Once the fabric came out each puppet took on a life of its own!
From string to pegs, this term has really illustrated one of the key goals behind these classes, create and play. Each week the teachers really appreciated hearing how they had been playing with their puppets at home.

Kids and Teen Art Clubs now open for booking
Kids art clubs at Goldfinch take place every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and can be booked per term. Teens Art Club every Friday for 11 to 16 year olds, next term will be paper illustration.
