Each year, we partner with Young Bristol to celebrate our birthday by hosting a special family art workshops in support of the incredible work they do for young people across the city. This event has become a meaningful way to bring families together through creativity while raising awareness of their impact. All proceeds from the workshop are donated directly to Young Bristol, helping to support their vital programmes for Bristol’s youth.
Goldfinch’s First Birthday Charity Fundraiser
Each year, we choose a theme that feels meaningful and accessible for all ages, and this February, being the month of love, felt like the perfect time to celebrate connection and kindness. Our “Love Birds” workshop invited participants to create their own charming cardboard birds, designed as keepsakes to display at home or thoughtful gifts for someone special.
The activity was simple, hands-on, and open-ended, allowing everyone to put their own creative spin on their piece. With a range of materials, colours, and textures to explore, the workshop encouraged imagination while also offering a moment to reflect on the importance of love in our lives, having it, sharing it, and spreading it within our communities.

Goldfinch’s Second Birthday Charity Fundraiser
We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our second birthday charity fundraiser in support of Young Bristol. It was a truly special day, filled with creativity, connection, and community spirit. Thanks to your generosity and energy, we raised over £500 during the workshop, an incredible contribution that will go directly towards supporting young people across Bristol.
This year’s celebration was made even more meaningful as it coincided with Mother’s Day. Our workshop centred around making beautiful tissue paper flowers, simple, vibrant creations designed to be gifted or treasured at home. The session offered a chance for children and their grown-ups, whether parents, carers, family members or friends to spend quality time together, creating something thoughtful and personal. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, with families crafting side by side, sharing ideas, and enjoying a moment of connection.
True to Goldfinch style, the workshop was designed for all ages. While older children and adults carefully shaped their paper flowers, younger visitors explored garden bird themed tuff trays filled with sensory play and seasonal materials. This thoughtful mix of activities meant everyone could take part in their own way, from curious toddlers to creative grown-ups.
Each year, we choose Young Bristol as our charity partner for our birthday celebration, and this partnership continues to feel deeply important. The work they do to support and create opportunities for young people across the city is invaluable, and we’re proud to support their mission.
